Santos Futebol Clube renewed the contract with goalkeeper João Pedro until April 2031. The young goalkeeper has 18 years and already integrates the professional team. Born and raised in Santos, João Pedro started his career in futsal at the Gremetal school, playing in the line, but had to go to the goal in one opportunity and also due to his height. Since then, he fell in love with the position and did not want to leave the goal. He arrived at the Peixe base in 2018, at nine years old. He started in the sub-11 and was standing out since the first training sessions. Throughout the seasons, the goalkeeper accumulates several calls for the Brazilian youth team, in sub-15, sub-17 and now in sub-20. In 2025, João Pedro was the main name of Brazil in the sub-17 World Cup, defending six penalties during the campaign. Currently, the young goalkeeper is at the disposal of the professional team led by coach Cuca, has been called up for matches, but also plays for the sub-20 Peixe team.
